Experience

The Experience token was released as part of the Commander Anthology set in 2017. This collection was curated by Wizards of the Coast to bring together four previously released Commander decks into one cohesive package, providing players with access to sought-after cards and functional accessories like double-sided tokens. The token was designed to track the unique experience counters introduced in the Commander 2015 set, which allowed players to build toward powerful, scaling effects based on their commander's specific abilities.

The art and design of the token reflect the functional aesthetic of the Commander Anthology series, prioritizing clarity for gameplay in social, multiplayer formats. While the token carries no individual illustrator credit, it follows the standardized visual language established for the Commander product line, focusing on utility and recognition during tabletop play.
