Where it came from
Experience was released as part of the Commander 2015 set, specifically included within the token and emblem collection intended to support the new mechanics introduced that year. This card functions as an emblem, a persistent effect that enters the battlefield through the specific 'experience counter' cycle, which rewarded players for their actions during gameplay, such as casting their commander or sacrificing creatures.
The card features artwork commissioned by Wizards of the Coast to maintain visual continuity with the broader experience counter thematic established in the set. As a utility token, its design is strictly functional, prioritizing clarity for the player to track the scaling power of their commander. It is considered a standard supplemental piece for Commander deck builders rather than a collectible art card.
