Where it came from
Faith of the Devoted was originally released in 2017 as part of the Amonkhet set, before being reprinted as card number 112 in the 2019 Commander product line. It was designed as an enchantment that rewards players for cycling cards, a mechanic central to the flavor of the Amonkhet plane, which centers on a brutal, faith-based society built around the trial of the gods.
