Where it came from
Fetid Heath was released in 2008 as part of the Eventide expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As a 'filter land,' it was designed to provide color fixing for multicolor decks by allowing players to convert colorless mana into specific color combinations, in this case, white and black. This cycle of lands served as a mechanical successor to the allied-colored filter lands introduced in the Shadowmoor set, rounding out the ten-card set for the two-colored themes of the block.
