Provenance

Where it came from

The Finch Formation token was released as part of the Bloomburrow set for Magic: The Gathering in 2024. The token is produced by creature-generating spells within the set, specifically supporting the bird-themed synergies prevalent in the woodland-inspired expansion. It serves as a mechanical representation of the various small avian creatures inhabiting the world of Bloomburrow.

The visual design of the token reflects the set's anthropomorphic aesthetic, characterized by a soft, illustrative fantasy style that emphasizes the cozy yet adventurous nature of the plane. The artwork is consistent with the cohesive artistic vision led by Wizards of the Coast, intended to immerse players in a storybook-inspired environment while maintaining the functional clarity required for tabletop gameplay.
