Glacial Fortress

Glacial Fortress was originally introduced in the Magic 2010 core set as part of a cycle of allied-color dual lands, marking a significant shift in core set design philosophy. By replacing the previous cycle of pain lands with these entry-to-play lands, Wizards of the Coast sought to provide a more approachable, balanced mana-fixing option for newer players while remaining relevant for competitive play. The Magic 2012 printing continued this inclusion, cementing the card as a staple utility piece for control-oriented decks during its time in the standard format.
