Goblin Trashmaster

Goblin Trashmaster was originally introduced in the 2018 Core Set for Magic: The Gathering. As a rare creature card, it was designed to anchor tribal goblin decks by providing a powerful utility effect that rewards players for sacrificing their own goblin tokens to destroy opposing artifacts. The mechanics reflect a classic aggressive red-aligned strategy common in the game's history, focusing on sacrifice-based resource management.

The artwork was commissioned from illustrator Jakub Kasper, who created a dynamic and chaotic depiction of the goblin leader surrounded by scavenged mechanical remnants. Kasper’s design emphasizes the creature’s scrap-heap aesthetic, aiming to capture the erratic and destructive nature of goblin civilization. The card was later included in 'The List', a recurring selection of reprinted cards curated by Wizards of the Coast to be found in set boosters, ensuring its availability for players well beyond its initial release window.
