Horror

The Horror token, card number 13, was released as part of the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game collection. These tokens were designed to serve as functional gameplay aids, representing summoned creatures or specific status effects within the game's complex strategic framework. The design aesthetic draws heavily from the dark, gothic, and industrial visual language established throughout the mainline Final Fantasy series, particularly the imagery found in titles like Final Fantasy VII and VIII.

The illustrations for this series were crafted by a rotating team of Square Enix artists who aimed to maintain visual consistency with the expansive lore of the franchise. While these tokens were primarily utilitarian tools intended for active play, their release coincided with a period of renewed interest in physical TCGs. They were generally received by the player community as essential components for tournament play, valued for their ability to streamline the board state while providing immersive art assets that resonate with long-term fans.
