What it does
Eminence — Whenever another nontoken Wizard you control enters, if Inalla is in the command zone or on the battlefield, you may pay 1 generic mana. If you do, create a token that's a copy of that Wizard. The token gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
Tap five untapped Wizards you control: Target player loses 7 life.

Where it came from
Inalla, Archmage Ritualist was released in 2017 as part of the Commander 2017 set, specifically featured in the Arcane Wizardry deck. The card was designed to serve as the face commander for a tribal-focused strategy that rewarded players for casting Wizard creatures. Its mechanical identity relies on an eminence ability, allowing the player to create a temporary token copy of a Wizard even while the commander remains in the command zone, which fundamentally altered how players approached deck-building for the Wizard archetype.
The oversized card variant was produced as a promotional collector's item to accompany the release of the Commander 2017 product line. These larger versions were created primarily for visual impact and were intended to serve as a high-profile display piece for players commanding their games from the table. The artwork, illustrated by Aleksi Briclot, emphasizes Inalla’s status as a Grixis-aligned practitioner of ritual magic, capturing a dark, high-fantasy aesthetic that became a hallmark of the set's visual direction.
