Provenance

Where it came from

The Insect token originates from the Warhammer 40,000: Universes Beyond set for Magic: The Gathering, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2024. Designed to support the Tyranid Swarm Commander deck, this card represents the swarm-like nature of the faction, providing a tangible play piece for abilities that generate creature tokens during gameplay.

The art features the distinct, bio-organic aesthetic characteristic of the Tyranids, emphasizing the insectoid and chitinous features of the race. The design was crafted to maintain visual consistency with the broader Warhammer 40,000 sci-fi aesthetic while adhering to the technical specifications required for Magic: The Gathering's mechanical token ecosystem.
