Jeskai Infiltrator

Jeskai Infiltrator was originally printed in the Fate Reforged set in 2015, representing the tactical prowess of the Jeskai Way, a monastic order centered on martial arts and mental discipline. The card features the 'manifest' mechanic, a thematic representation of hidden potential and deception that allows a player to put a card face-down onto the battlefield as a 2/2 creature. Its inclusion in the Commander 2018 set repurposed the card for multiplayer environments, where its ability to return to the battlefield face-up after combat damage provides consistent utility for players seeking to flip powerful cards into play without paying their mana costs.

The artwork for the card was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, who has contributed extensively to the visual identity of Magic: The Gathering. Kieryluk employed a dynamic, fluid style to capture the Infiltrator in mid-motion, emphasizing the Jeskai theme of movement and sudden redirection. Within the community, the design is regarded as a clever tactical piece, praised for its versatility in Limited and Commander formats, even as the specific manifest mechanic remains a niche, albeit strategically rewarding, feature of the game's broader design space.
