Jhoira, Ageless Innovator // Jhoira, Ageless Innovator

The Dominaria United Art Series, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2022, was designed to celebrate the rich visual history of Magic: The Gathering by featuring high-resolution, borderless versions of cards from the main set. These cards do not feature standard game statistics, instead serving as collectible art pieces that highlight the intricate world-building and character design of the Dominarian plane. Jhoira, a long-standing figure in the lore as an inventive artificer and protector, was reimagined here to reflect her enduring presence in the franchise.

This particular interpretation of Jhoira was illustrated by Aleksi Briclot, a prolific artist known for his atmospheric and dynamic contributions to fantasy gaming. In this depiction, Briclot focused on capturing her technical prowess and storied history, utilizing sharp lighting and ornate detail to distinguish her as a central pillar of the Dominaria narrative. Upon release, the series was well-received by collectors who prioritized the aesthetic quality and the ability to showcase the distinct artistic styles that define the game’s multiverse.
