Talas Lookout // Talas Lookout

Talas Lookout was released in 2022 as part of the Dominaria United Art Series, a collection of cards featuring full-art illustrations without game text. This series was designed to highlight the high-fantasy aesthetic of the Magic: The Gathering multiverse, specifically focusing on the returning plane of Dominaria. These cards were distributed exclusively within collector booster packs, aiming to provide a high-end visual experience for collectors who appreciate the artistic development of the game.

The illustration was created by the artist Lius Lasahido, known for his work on various fantasy and science fiction projects. Lasahido’s design centers on the nautical theme of the Talas, a seafaring faction from the Dominaria lore. By removing the traditional card frame, the design emphasizes the expansive, sweeping scope of the horizon and the vessel, intending to evoke a sense of exploration and the vast scale of the game's setting. The artwork was well-received by the community for its rich color palette and atmospheric depth.
