Where it came from
Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, was originally introduced in the Phyrexia: All Will Be One set as a powerful Praetor representing the blue-aligned faction of the Phyrexians. The 'Great Synthesis' version featured here represents his character's transformation during the subsequent March of the Machine storyline, where he seeks to rewrite the laws of the multiverse. This specific card was released as part of the promotional suite for March of the Machine, often distributed through organized play events or set-specific collector initiatives to highlight the narrative's conclusion.
The visual design follows the distinct biomechanical aesthetic established by the Phyrexian plane, emphasizing fluid, nightmarish integration of flesh and cold machine. The artwork captures the character in a state of apotheosis, designed to convey the immense, terrifying scale of his ambition. It was received by the community as a mechanically complex and visually striking card, noted for its 'transform' mechanic which acts as a key centerpiece for the set's broader exploration of corrupted legends.
