What it does
"World Champion" was the one honor Jon Finkel had yet to claim. His dominating performance at this year's World Championships earned him that title at last. Finkel played an explosive deck that is named after its most important card, Tinker. Fellow Team Antarctica member Dan O'Mahoney-Schwartz designed this monoblue deck. The deck used artifacts such as Grim Monolith, Metalworker, and Voltaic Key to quickly generate huge amounts of mana, and then used that mana to put large creatures into play.

Where it came from
The 2000 World Championship Decks were released by Wizards of the Coast to commemorate the top players at the 2000 Magic: The Gathering World Championship held in Brussels. This specific card, the Jon Finkel Bio, serves as a biographical insert included within the packaging of the deck replication used by Finkel during his victory. The deck itself was a precise reproduction of his tournament-winning 'Tinker' deck, allowing fans to play with the exact configuration that secured his place in Magic history.
The design of these decks emphasized an educational and historical approach, providing players with a look into the professional meta-game of the era. The biographical cards were intended to humanize the champions and provide context for their playstyles and professional achievements. As one of the most iconic players in the history of the game, Finkel's inclusion was highly anticipated, and the set is generally regarded by collectors as a foundational piece of Magic: The Gathering esports memorabilia.
