Junk Winder // Junk Winder

Junk Winder was released as part of the Modern Horizons 2 Art Series in 2021, a collection designed to highlight the high-fidelity illustrations featured in the main expansion. These cards function as oversized display pieces rather than traditional gameplay components, intended to celebrate the aesthetic contributions of the artists commissioned for the set. The art series cards were distributed through collector boosters, serving as collectible tributes to the visual identity of Magic: The Gathering.

The illustration for Junk Winder was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, who is known for his work across various sets in the game. His design for this creature emphasizes its scrap-built, mechanical nature through intricate detailing and a focused color palette. Upon the release of Modern Horizons 2, these art cards were well-received by collectors who prioritize the game's world-building and character design, effectively acting as high-quality prints for fans of the game's distinctive fantasy art style.
