What it does
Choose any number of target players or planeswalkers. For each of them, reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a nonland card, Kaboom! deals damage equal to that card's mana value to that player or planeswalker, then you put the revealed cards on the bottom of your library in any order.

Where it came from
Kaboom! was released as part of the Onslaught expansion for Magic: The Gathering in October 2002. As a red sorcery card, it was designed to capture the chaotic, high-variance nature of red mana, utilizing a coin-flipping mechanic that could result in devastating damage to opponents or, conversely, ineffective results based on luck.
The card’s illustration was created by artist Heather Hudson, whose work defined much of the visual aesthetic of the Onslaught block.
