What it does
Whenever you attack, target attacking creature can't be blocked this turn. It connives. Then choose another attacking creature with lesser power. That creature gains double strike until end of turn. (To have a creature connive, draw a card, then discard a card. If you discarded a nonland card, put a +1/+1 counter on that creature.)

Where it came from
Kamiz, Obscura Oculus was released in 2022 as part of the 'Obscura Operation' commander deck, which accompanied the Magic: The Gathering set Streets of New Capenna. The card represents the leader of the Obscura, a faction within the Art Deco-inspired metropolis of New Capenna that functions as a secretive organization of mages and spies. Its design reflects the set's focus on three-color themes, specifically combining white, blue, and black mana to emphasize themes of deception, tactical manipulation, and subterfuge.
The card was illustrated by Johannes Voss, a long-standing contributor to the game who utilized the set's signature 1920s noir aesthetic to depict Kamiz. The artwork focuses on a shadowy, multifaceted figure that embodies the faction's focus on information control and illusion. Upon its release, the card was well-received by commander players for its unique ability to provide both unblockability and double strike to creatures, positioning it as a potent engine for aggro-control strategies in the multiplayer format.
