Kor Sanctifiers

Kor Sanctifiers was introduced in the 2009 Planechase release, a multiplayer-focused Magic: The Gathering product designed to incorporate shifting dimensional environments into traditional gameplay. The card belongs to the Zendikar block aesthetic, portraying the Kor, a race of nomadic climbers native to the world of Zendikar, who are defined by their mastery of rope-work and their deep-seated religious devotion to preserving their environment against external threats.

The illustration was created by artist Dan Dos Santos, who sought to capture the Kor's agility and spiritual fervor. His composition emphasizes the character’s verticality and liturgical tools, aligning with the broader creative direction of Zendikar’s exploration-themed narrative. Upon its release, the card was well-received by players for its efficient utility in white decks, offering a reliable way to interact with artifacts and enchantments during a period when such mechanics were highly valued in the evolving card pool.
