The Library of Leng was originally released as part of the Alpha and Beta sets of Magic: The Gathering in 1993, designed by Richard Garfield as an artifact that allows a player to choose where to discard cards. Its inclusion in the International Collectors' Edition (CE) in 1993 served as a non-tournament-legal reproduction of the game's earliest cards, intended for collectors and promotional purposes.
