Liesa, Forgotten Archangel // Liesa, Forgotten Archangel

The Liesa, Forgotten Archangel card from the Midnight Hunt Art Series was released in 2021 as part of a specialized line of promotional cards designed to showcase the high-fantasy aesthetics of the Magic: The Gathering expansion, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt. These cards were produced primarily for collectors to appreciate the detailed character art in a larger, borderless format, focusing on the dark, gothic-horror themes that define the Innistrad plane.

The artwork for this specific card was commissioned by Wizards of the Coast to highlight the character's celestial yet somber design, intended to bridge the gap between traditional angelic iconography and the grim setting of the set. Upon its release, the Art Series was well-received by the player community as a premium way to preserve and display the work of the game's illustrators outside of the standard gameplay frame.
