Little Girl

Little Girl is a card from the 2004 Magic: The Gathering set Unhinged, an expansion intentionally designed for silver-bordered casual play rather than sanctioned tournament competition. It was created as part of the set's mandate to explore comedic themes and subvert the traditional rules of the game. Its design leverages the card's specific name to manipulate power and toughness values based on the physical height of the creature's namesake, introducing a meta-humorous interaction that was entirely unprecedented in formal card mechanics at the time of release.

The card features illustration by Jeff Miracola, who embraced the set's whimsical and caricatured aesthetic to complement the card's joke-based mechanics. By depicting the character in a literal and exaggerated fashion, the art serves to reinforce the card's unique status as a humor-focused collectible. Upon release, the set was received as a polarizing but refreshing departure for the game, appreciated by players who enjoyed the creative liberties taken by the design team to break the rigidity of standard gameplay.
