Lord Windgrace

Lord Windgrace was introduced as a legendary creature in the Commander 2018 set, specifically appearing as one of the flagship face commanders for the 'Subjective Reality' deck. As a figure deeply rooted in Magic: The Gathering lore, Lord Windgrace represents the panther-like feline planeswalker who served as one of the Nine Titans during the Phyrexian Invasion. The design team sought to emphasize his connection to the lands of Dominaria, creating a Jund-aligned planeswalker whose loyalty abilities directly manipulate land resources, reflecting his historical role as a guardian of Urborg.

The oversized card format was a tradition for Commander sets during this era, intended as a display piece for players to represent their commander on the battlefield more prominently. The artwork, illustrated by Aleksi Briclot, captures the character's imposing, regal presence and dark, elemental aesthetic. The card was well-received by the community for its thematic accuracy to the character's lore and its functional synergy with graveyard-centric land strategies, remaining a staple choice for Commander players interested in resource-heavy gameplay.
