Mana Maze

Mana Maze was originally introduced in the Invasion expansion set of Magic: The Gathering in 2000, designed to introduce a rhythmic, color-dependent disruption to the game's standard flow. The card creates a unique state-based restriction that prevents players from casting spells of the same color as the last spell cast, forcing strategic sequencing and penalizing predictable play patterns.

This specific printing originates from the 2001 World Championship Decks, a product line released by Wizards of the Coast to replicate the exact deck lists used by the top eight finalists at the World Championships. These cards are distinguished by a gold-bordered frame and the signature of the player who used the deck in the tournament, serving as both a functional tool for replicating high-level strategy and a historical artifact of the professional tournament circuit.
