Mangara of Corondor

Mangara of Corondor was introduced in the 2006 Magic: The Gathering set Time Spiral. The set was designed as a nostalgic retrospective, featuring characters and mechanics from throughout the game's history. Mangara was conceived as a legendary diplomat from the continent of Jamuraa, a figure previously mentioned in flavor text during the Mirage block, finally receiving his own physical card representation a decade later.

The card was illustrated by Donato Giancola, who utilized his signature painterly style to capture the character's mystical and scholarly essence. His design sought to reflect Mangara's role as a powerful peacekeeper within the lore of the Multiverse. Upon release, the card was received as a versatile tool for control archetypes, valued by players for its ability to exile permanents, and it remains a notable piece of the Time Spiral block's tribute to Magic's early narrative arcs.
