Where it came from
Mechanized Production was originally released in the Aether Revolt expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2017, designed as a rare enchantment that serves as an alternate win condition. The card reflects the industrial, artifact-focused themes of the Kaladesh block, where inventors utilize magical energy to create complex machinery. The mechanic relies on controlling a high number of identical artifacts, turning the act of manufacturing into a strategic path to victory.
This specific version originates from the Secret Lair Drop Series, which showcases reimagined artwork by contemporary illustrators. The design for this printing departs from the original aesthetic to offer a stylized, standalone vision of mechanical replication. These specialized drops are produced in limited windows for enthusiasts who value unique artistic interpretations of classic game mechanics, often receiving positive reception for their departure from standard set art styles.
