Meekstone

Meekstone was first introduced as a rare card in the Limited Edition Alpha set in 1993, later appearing in the Collectors' Edition released in late 1993. This set was produced as a non-tournament legal showcase of the original game, intended to allow players access to cards that had become prohibitively expensive or rare. The design features artwork by Quinton Hoover, whose stylistic influence helped define the early visual identity of the game, capturing a sense of high-fantasy mysticism that complemented the card's mechanical function of neutralizing aggressive creatures.

The card functions as an artifact that prevents high-power creatures from untapping, serving as a foundational piece of control strategy in the early meta-game.
