Where it came from
Memory Deluge was first introduced in the 2021 set Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, designed as a powerful blue instant-speed draw spell. It embodies the gothic horror aesthetic of the plane of Innistrad, mechanically representing the overwhelming influx of information from the research of the plane's scholars and mages. The card quickly became a staple in various formats, including Standard and Pioneer, due to its graveyard utility and ability to dig deep into a player's library.
The version from Innistrad Remastered, appearing as collector number 75, serves as a curated inclusion within a set designed to synthesize the most iconic elements of previous Innistrad-based expansions. The artwork emphasizes the atmospheric, macabre tone characteristic of the setting, maintaining the visual consistency that fans have come to associate with the plane's history. It is highly regarded by competitive players for its efficiency and role as a late-game engine.
