Where it came from
Mighty Leap was included in the 2010 Duel Decks: Elspeth vs. Tezzeret set, which featured two preconstructed decks designed to highlight the rivalry between the planeswalkers Elspeth Tirel and Tezzeret the Seeker. The set was released during the height of the Alara block narrative, serving as an entry-level product for players to experience the lore-driven conflict between the white-aligned hero and the blue-aligned artificer.
The card features artwork by Christopher Rush, one of the most iconic illustrators in the game's history. His depiction of a soldier launching into the air is characteristic of his straightforward, dynamic style, aiming to visually represent the mechanical effect of granting a creature flying and a power boost. The card was well-received by players of the era as a flexible combat trick, valued primarily for its versatility in Limited formats and casual play environments.
