Minotaur Tactician

The Minotaur Tactician was released in May 2001 as part of the Apocalypse set, the final expansion in the Invasion block for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This set was designed to conclude the storyline of the Phyrexians' invasion of Dominaria, a major narrative arc that brought together various factions and creatures from across the game's multiverse to combat a common mechanical threat.

The card illustration was created by Carl Critchlow, a British artist well-regarded for his distinctive, stylized, and often gritty approach to fantasy imagery. Critchlow intended to convey a sense of disciplined aggression in the creature, reflecting its role as a tactician rather than a simple brute.
