Morphic Pool

Morphic Pool was originally introduced as part of the Battlebond set in 2018, designed to facilitate multiplayer formats by providing a land that enters untapped when playing with a partner. The Battle for Baldur's Gate promo version, identified as 357s, serves as a specialized reprint integrated into the Dungeons & Dragons crossover expansion. This particular iteration was created to offer players a thematic aesthetic that aligns with the visual language of the Forgotten Realms setting, maintaining the mechanical utility of the land cycle while updating the art style to reflect the tone of the Commander Legends sequel.

The artwork for this version was commissioned to evoke the mystical, shifting nature of the pool, balancing the functional requirements of the card layout with the high-fantasy sensibilities of the Baldur's Gate brand. As a promotional release, this specific card variant was distributed through organized play programs, aiming to incentivize participation in local community events. It was received by players as a desirable utility land, valued for its dual-color fixing capabilities and the prestige associated with its unique promo-stamped status.
