Mosswort Bridge

Mosswort Bridge was originally introduced in the Lorwyn expansion set in 2007, designed to introduce the 'hideaway' mechanic that rewards players for controlling creatures with significant power. The card functions as a powerful utility land, allowing a player to look at the top four cards of their library, exile one face-down, and play it for free once the condition is met. This design emphasizes the thematic focus of the set, which drew heavily on Celtic folklore and the mystical, untamed nature of the fae and woodland spirits.

The version from Commander 2020 features updated frame treatments consistent with the specialized nature of the preconstructed decks released that year. The artwork, originally rendered by Adam Rex for the Lorwyn release, captures the ethereal and secretive aesthetic of the card's location, blending organic, moss-covered textures with a sense of hidden potential. Upon its initial release and subsequent reprints, the card became a staple in green-aligned decks that prioritize high-power creatures, valued for its ability to generate significant card advantage without requiring a spell slot.
