Where it came from
My Forces Are Innumerable was released in 2017 as part of the Archenemy: Nicol Bolas set, a supplemental product for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game designed for the Archenemy multiplayer format. The set features a deck centered around the iconic antagonist Nicol Bolas, utilizing a unique deck of oversized 'scheme' cards that provide powerful global effects to represent the villain's tactical dominance over the three other players.
The card’s illustration was created by artist Daarken, known for a dark, dramatic fantasy aesthetic that aligns with the intimidating nature of the Nicol Bolas character. As a scheme card, its design serves a specific gameplay function intended to swing the tide of a match in the archenemy's favor, reflecting the character's narrative tendency to overwhelm his opponents with sheer numbers and vast, orchestrated schemes.
