Myr

The Myr token was released in the Double Masters expansion, which launched in 2020 as a high-value reprint set designed to provide players with access to rare and powerful cards from Magic: The Gathering history. As part of this set's inclusion of token cards, the Myr token serves as a representation of the 1/1 artifact creature summoned by various cards, such as the Myrsmith or Myr Turbine. The token format for this set maintained the functional clarity expected by players while integrating into the broader visual aesthetic of the artifact-heavy Double Masters release.

The illustration for this iteration of the Myr was crafted to reflect the iconic, insect-like appearance of the creatures from the Mirrodin plane. Designers emphasized the sleek, metallic geometry characteristic of the Myr, aiming to create a cohesive visual language that remains consistent across different sets while distinguishing this specific version through the clean, updated digital art style standard in contemporary Wizards of the Coast releases. It was received by the player base as a practical and necessary utility item, valued for its durability and clarity in competitive play environments.
