Myr Enforcer

Myr Enforcer was originally released in the 2003 Mirrodin expansion, a set centered on a metallic world where every inhabitant was an artifact. Designed as part of the affinity for artifacts mechanic, the creature’s cost is reduced by the number of artifacts the player controls, reflecting the synergistic and aggressive nature of the block's industrial aesthetic. This specific version from the Modern Masters 2015 set features updated card frames and artwork by Greg Staples, who captures the imposing, clanking physicality of the construct in the harsh landscape of Mirrodin.

The Modern Masters series was created to provide players with access to older, out-of-print cards that had become staples in various competitive formats. By reprinting cards like Myr Enforcer, Wizards of the Coast sought to balance the power level of the Modern format while celebrating the history of artifact-heavy sets. The card is widely regarded as a significant piece of Magic: The Gathering history, representing a period when affinity decks dominated tournament play and challenged the traditional resource management systems of the game.
