Where it came from
Naktamun Lorespinner is a Magic: The Gathering card introduced in the Secrets of Strixhaven Commander series, specifically functioning as a double-faced card that transforms into the iconic legacy card Wheel of Fortune. This item was created as part of the 'Magic 30' promotional celebration, designed to bring historic, high-powered cards into the modern Commander format through a thematic lens centered on the lore of Amonkhet and Strixhaven.
The card’s design reflects a blend of ancient Egyptian-inspired aesthetics from the Amonkhet plane with the academic motifs of Strixhaven. By pairing a utility-focused creature with one of the most powerful draw spells in the game’s history, the illustrators intended to provide players with a functional bridge between classic gameplay mechanics and the narrative progression of the Multiverse, ultimately receiving a positive reception among competitive Commander players for its strategic versatility.
