Naya

Naya was originally introduced as one of the five distinct shards of the plane Alara in the 2008 Magic: The Gathering expansion set of the same name. The shard of Naya was characterized by its untamed, gargantuan wilderness and a culture that venerated the concept of 'greater size' as a divine virtue. In the context of the game's mechanics and lore, Naya represents a confluence of red, green, and white mana, resulting in a world where massive, apex predators dominate the ecosystem.

This specific iteration of the Naya plane card appeared in the 2016 Planechase Anthology, a collection that gathered various planar cards from throughout the game's history. The design focuses on the 'Naya' keyword mechanic, which emphasizes creatures with high power to trigger unique gameplay effects. The artwork for the plane reflects the colossal, lush aesthetic of the region, emphasizing the scale of the landscape and the primeval creatures that inhabit it, aligning with the artistic vision of Wizards of the Coast to create a visually distinct and immersive world for players.
