Where it came from
Noosegraf Mob was released in 2016 as part of the Eldritch Moon expansion for Magic: The Gathering. The set is the second chapter of the Shadows over Innistrad block, which depicts the gothic horror plane of Innistrad falling under the corruption of the Eldrazi titan Emrakul. The card represents the terrifying transformation of the plane's undead denizens as they are warped by otherworldly influence, serving as a powerful mechanical tool for graveyard-focused black-aligned decks.
The artwork was illustrated by Daarken, a veteran artist for the game known for his dark and visceral aesthetic. He focused on the concept of a teeming, hive-minded mass of zombies, capturing the chaotic and encroaching nature of the Eldrazi-corrupted undead. The card was well-received by players for its ability to create a significant board presence in a single turn, cementing its place as a staple in various Commander and limited formats.
