Where it came from
Oubliette was originally printed in the 1994 expansion Chronicles, a set designed to provide players with access to cards from earlier, out-of-print sets like Arabian Nights. Functionally, the card allows a player to exile a creature and all counters on it, essentially trapping the card in a pseudo-limbo until the enchantment is removed. It was envisioned as a flavor-rich way to interact with board states in black, utilizing a unique mechanic that required players to track specific exiled assets outside the standard game flow.
