Overgrown Tomb

Overgrown Tomb, a signature dual land originally debuting in the Ravnica: City of Guilds expansion, was reimagined for the Unfinity set as part of a series of cards featuring the unique 'planetary space land' art style. This release aimed to blend the mechanical utility of the classic mana-producing land with a whimsical, space-themed aesthetic that defined the Unfinity expansion. The design intent was to provide players with a visually striking, premium version of a functional staple that fits into the broader Magic: The Gathering multiverse while celebrating the irreverent tone of the Un-sets.

The artwork for this specific iteration was crafted by Cliff Childs, a long-time contributor to the game whose work is known for its evocative use of lighting and expansive vistas. Childs moved away from the traditional grim, subterranean imagery usually associated with the Golgari-aligned tomb to instead render a lush, overgrown planetary surface floating in the cosmos.
