Prismatic Boon

Prismatic Boon was released in 1996 as part of the Mirage expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. As the first set designed as a standalone draft environment, Mirage introduced a thematic focus on African-inspired folklore and geography, departing from the game’s previous emphasis on generic high-fantasy tropes. The artwork for the card was created by illustrator Anson Maddocks, a foundational artist for the early years of the game.
