Ram Through

Ram Through was originally introduced in the 2020 set Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, designed as a green instant that captures the set's central theme of powerful creatures interacting with the battlefield. The card allows a creature to deal its power to a target creature, with any excess damage dealt to that creature's controller, effectively blending removal with potential player damage. Its inclusion in the Foundations Commander set, marked as collector number 221, reflects its continued utility in the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem as a staple for green decks looking for efficient, versatile interaction.

The card's artwork depicts a creature mid-charge, emphasizing the raw, visceral impact of the 'trample' mechanic that defines the spell's mechanical identity. The design was crafted by the Wizards of the Coast team to provide green, a color often reliant on creature-based combat, with a reliable answer to problematic blockers. Upon its release, it was well-received by the player base for its simplicity and strength, quickly becoming a fixture in formats like Commander where board states can become dense with opposing threats.
