Recalibrate // Recalibrate

Recalibrate is part of the Modern Horizons 2 Art Series, a specialized sub-set released by Wizards of the Coast in 2021. This collection was designed to celebrate the intricate visual storytelling of the game, featuring cards that display the full-frame artwork from the core set without the usual text overlays. These cards were produced as collectible inserts, intended to offer enthusiasts a closer look at the aesthetic choices behind the expansion's themes, which focused on blending nostalgic elements with powerful new mechanical designs.

The artwork for this specific card was crafted by illustrator Joseph Meehan, whose contribution captures the surreal and mechanical essence of the game's setting. Meehan aimed to balance technical detail with an ethereal color palette, creating a visual that emphasizes themes of temporal manipulation and precision. Upon its release, the card was well-received by the collector community for its clean, artistic presentation, highlighting the transition of Magic: The Gathering card designs into high-end collector visuals.
