Where it came from
Relentless Pursuit was released as part of the Jumpstart 2022 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, a set designed to facilitate quick, randomized play experiences without the need for traditional deck construction. The card reflects the set's focus on synergistic gameplay, serving as a utility spell that allows players to bridge the gap between their graveyard and their battlefield, typical of the set's green-aligned mechanics.
The visual design of the card is attributed to illustrator Wisnu Tan, who captured the frenetic energy of the ability through a depiction of a character caught in the midst of a desperate search. Like many cards in the Jumpstart series, the artwork was crafted to fit within the stylistic parameters of contemporary fantasy art, emphasizing dynamic lighting and high-contrast environments to resonate with both competitive players and those collecting for the aesthetic value of the expansion.
