Where it came from
Repeated Reverberation was released as part of the Core Set 2020 expansion for Magic: The Gathering, which debuted in July 2019. The card was designed as a rare red sorcery intended to capture the chaotic and explosive nature of blue-red spell-copying mechanics, providing a unique tactical tool for players to double down on their own instants and sorceries while also punishing opponents for their own spells.
The artwork for this piece was created by the artist Slawomir Maniak, who focused on capturing the visual essence of magical resonance and temporal distortion. The design goal was to illustrate the concept of a single spell rippling outward into multiple manifestations, and the card was generally well-received by the community for its niche utility in Commander and other eternal formats where spell-stacking strategies are common.
