Revelation

Released in 1997 as part of the Magic: The Gathering Legends expansion, Revelation stands as one of the hallmark cards of the set's high-fantasy aesthetic. The set was designed to introduce a wide array of legendary creatures and powerful spells, contributing to the game's evolving mechanical depth during its formative years. As a white sorcery card, it reflects the era's focus on symmetrical gameplay effects that allowed both players to draw cards, a mechanic rooted in the game's early philosophy of balanced resource distribution.

The artwork for Revelation was created by Christopher Rush, one of the most prolific and iconic illustrators in the history of the game. Known for his distinct, painterly style that defined the visual identity of early sets, Rush utilized evocative imagery to capture the ethereal and transformative nature of the spell. Upon its release, the card was received as a niche utility tool, valued primarily by players exploring control-oriented archetypes who sought to stabilize the board state during the mid-game.
