Rogue's Passage

Rogue's Passage was first introduced in the Magic Origins set, released by Wizards of the Coast in 2015. While the card is a utility land meant to provide a tactical advantage in gameplay by making creatures unblockable, it serves as a functional reprint of the card originally debuted in the Planechase 2012 series. Its inclusion in Magic Origins allowed the card to enter the Modern card pool, providing players with a consistent, repeatable method to bypass defensive board states.

The artwork for this iteration was illustrated by Ryan Yee, who aimed to depict a shadowed, narrow alleyway that captures the essence of a hidden route in a fantasy cityscape. The design focuses on the thematic idea of a rogue finding a path where others see only stone, complementing the card's mechanical ability. It was well-received by the player base as a staple tool for Commander and casual play, appreciated for its reliability as an inexpensive way to force damage through against high-toughness blockers.
