What it does
As long as an artifact creature you control is attacking, prevent all damage that would be dealt to Sanwell.
Whenever Sanwell becomes tapped, exile the top six cards of your library. You may cast a Vehicle or artifact creature spell from among them. Then put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Where it came from
Sanwell, Avenger Ace was released in 2022 as part of The Brothers' War Commander set for Magic: The Gathering. The card represents a character tied to the legendary conflict between the brothers Urza and Mishra, serving as a manifestation of the set's focus on historical artifacts and heroic combatants within the game's deep lore. Its introduction provided players with a white-aligned commander focused on vehicle-based synergies.
The art was illustrated by Johannes Voss, whose style is frequently characterized by expressive lighting and dynamic character poses. The design intent behind the card was to provide a thematic anchor for players interested in piloting Vehicles, rewarding them for attacking with high-power creatures and assisting with card selection to keep the momentum of play consistent with the aggressive pace of the war-torn setting.
