Scion of Draco // Scion of Draco

Scion of Draco was released as part of the Modern Horizons 2 Art Series in 2021, a collection designed to showcase the intricate illustrations used in the Modern Horizons 2 expansion. This particular card features a stylized, standalone art print of the original creature design, which was intended to emphasize the draconic, metallic aesthetic central to the card's lore. The series was produced to provide players and collectors with high-quality representations of the game's evolving visual identity.

The artwork for Scion of Draco was created by artist Zack Stella, known for his work on numerous high-profile pieces within the game. Stella aimed to portray a sense of ancient, mechanical power, utilizing sharp angles and a distinct color palette to convey the creature's status as a fundamental, artifact-based entity. Upon its release, the Art Series was well-received by the collecting community for its focus on the creative contributions of the artists behind the game's expansive narrative.
