Scute Mob

Scute Mob was originally printed as a rare creature in the 2009 Zendikar expansion, an set heavily focused on the interplay between land cards and aggressive creature scaling. The card's design, illustrated by artist Jaime Jones, captures the flavor of the Zendikar plane where a single small insectoid creature can rapidly reproduce into an overwhelming swarm when enough mana-producing lands are controlled by the player.

The Modern Masters 2015 version of Scute Mob features the same original artwork and mechanical function, serving as a reprint for the Modern format. While the card is often cited by players for its late-game power in casual formats, its inclusion in the 2015 compilation set was intended to provide additional utility for green-aligned decks, maintaining the aesthetic and strategic consistency established during its initial release in the Zendikar block.
